Anyway, I met my friends, Raymond and Jonathan at the airport, they picked me up with Jon's( Jonathan ) car.We had a tour around KL airport, showing me some of the nice spotting areas we be going the next day. Forgot to mention that his girlfriend was around. Anyway, after seeing the airport, we went to the town area for a little tour ! I went to see the highest office in Asia, that is the twin tower, I forgot how to spell ! -_- It's pretty crowded even through it was like 12 midnight as many people were clubbing in the nearby area. The area reminds me of boat quey except that there is no river there.
The next day comes, we woke up at 0530 hrs because of the drive to the airport was around 45 mins, we woke up much earlier to catch the early birds in the morning. There were some highlights in the morning we were looking forward to see. The weather was beautiful with clouds never looking like going to rain. I slept at Jonathan's place the night before, so we make our way to fetch Raymond who we called him 8 times before he picked up his phone ! It was about 630 am before we started "flying" to the airport. We went to the weather control station to see which runway is used for taking off and landing. 14L is to be used for landing and 14R to be used for take off. Unlike Singapore, they only changed their runway direction on certain days. We went to a deserted spotting area where we can take unbelly shots of 14L landing . I couldn't take much good shots as my camara as limited functions, we didn't stay there for long before we headed for the observation hill which is my favourite as I can take many taxi shots there.
It was a breeze at the observation hill, I took many nice shots as the sun came out . Our photos turned out quite nice with the sun behind us ! A few of the flights that we were looking for like Yemenia Airlines , Japan Airlines and Emirates were delayed, couldnt take shots of these ! What a pity. Anyway , I wanted to take shots of Malaysia Airlines's (MH) Boeing 777 , 9M-MRB and 9M-MRH but it was disappointing as I didnt see any 777s taking off or landing ! I only saw MRB at night. -___- . Well, on the bright side, I caught the MH's A330 I flew on , 9M-MKE , quite a lot of Air Asia's colourful scheme plus a Gulf Air 50th anniversary 767 ! Check out the photos in jp or airliners.net. Just uploaded them today. I also had a few nice shots of MASkargo 742 which you don't see in Changi airport. The only thing I was disappointed was not seeing more MH's 777 and 744. Overall it was a good day of spotting because of the weather and a couple of nice humurous spotters I was with. Spotting alone can be very boring !!
Time flew past very quickly , I met Radzi the 747-400 MH's pilot briefly for a chat before he had to go meet his family while for me Jon fetched me to the airport where I bidded Raymond and Jon goodbye. I went to the observation deck for a while to spot planes but nothing much of interest before decided to grab my dinner and do a bit of shopping but all the stuffs u can get them in Singapore. I checked in, walked around the departure gates seeing the planes . I saw the delayed Yemenia's A310 and JAL's 777 . Boarded my JL607J aircraft which took me to Singapore. Ohh yes, forgot to add in that I got sunburned in KUL, the sun was scrotching hot and because I didnt bring my umbrella, got a bit burned because standing in the sun for a period !
